Murder Most Foolish
Murder Most Foolish is a group storytelling game about crafting the clues of an Agatha Christie style murder mystery, and then using those clues to determine what happened. However, the twist in this story is that everyone is guilty of the dastardly crime.
In Murder Most Foolish a gentlethem detective (played by a player or used as an NPC) questions the rest of the players who serve as the unusual suspects for a murder that has occurred. Together your group fills out the Evidence Tracker with outlandish clues. Once filled the suspects take turns using those clues to describe how they attempted the murder, the detective weaving each suspects story together into one large murder most foolish.
Content Warning: This game by nature discusses themes of violence and the text mentions weapons that can be used to cause harm. These topics in the context of the game are treated with comedic/cartoonish intent. Always talk with your fellow players to ensure everyone is comfortable with these themes. As well, it is best to establish boundaries before playing Murder Most Foolish to ensure the clues generated are fun, enjoyable and safe for everyone at the table.
This game is inspired by traditional drawing room style murder mysteries and the 1985 classic, Clue the Movie, as well as my own haphazard and corny murder mystery parties. I hope it brings you your own outrageous murder mystery story full of camp and plot holes.
Version one of this game has not been playtested and will be evolved after seeing the game in play. If you have feedback I'd love to hear it! Or better yet let's play it together!
